Protherium closes a €15 Million financing round to advance construction of its manufacturing network for radiopharmaceutical therapies

- Proceeds covering the construction of the site in Nancy with two modules to be delivered to customers in April 2027 and engaging expansion in Europe with Belgium and Germany
Nancy, France - Sept 23rd, 2026
Protherium, a radiopharmaceutical company developing a network of manufacturing sites dedicated to the production of radiopharmaceuticals therapies, announced the closing of a €15 Million financing round. The financing includes a mix of equity investment, bank loans and public subsidies with the participation of ILP Group, Bpifrance, a banking consortium and other private investors along with the existing shareholders.
Radiopharmaceutical therapy is entering a new era with multiple assets pivoting from early-stage clinical development to late stage and commercial. Broad adoption of the most promising nuclear medicine drugs has been limited by isotope supply and industrial capacity challenge. Protherium is building the industrial infrastructure to expand production capacity across Europe and offer novel manufacturing solutions. Protherium intends to build up to 5 sites in the next 2 years. Each site will include up to 6 modules. A module is an entirely independent radiopharmaceutical lab for large scale production, dedicated to one customer.
The financing enables Protherium to advance the construction of the site in Nancy (France) and to accelerate the company expansion in Europe, notably in Belgium and Germany. The three sites will be highly complementary, for short half-life drugs notably. The first two modules at the Nancy site will be delivered to customers in April 2027, with hot cells to be installed in December 2026. Some radionuclides including 177 Lu and 161 Tb will be produced on site by Protherium.
“Most radiopharmaceuticals expected to reach the market in the next five years are being developed by non‑European companies now seeking reliable production solutions within Europe” said Richard Zimmermann, Co-founder. “Existing options are extremely limited, and Protherium offers a genuinely new alternative—one that fully integrates regulatory requirements, staffing needs, language considerations, and even financial constraints”.
“With significant acceleration of intern targeted radiotherapy development, Protherium will provide support solutions for production in Europe with the Nancy facilities in 2027 and then in other European countries. This is exciting to build the industrial footprint which enables those innovative radio pharma therapies to benefit patients at a faster pace” said Jean-Bernard Deloye, Co-founder and CEO.
"This is a great milestone for Protherium we thank our investors and partners for their trust. We are building this network to make those breakthrough radiopharmaceutical therapies widely available across Europe. Nuclear Medicine enables a very targeted approach to fight the disease and will benefit more and more patients in the future" said Gilles Karcher, Co-founder and Chairman of the Board.
